The DEUST Environment and Waste validates the ability of the student to intervene in the resolution of problems related to the recycling of waste and the treatment of polluted natural elements. A specialist in waste recovery and water purification, the graduate constantly watches over the protection of the environment and the rational use of the planet. Its skills allow it to contribute to the management of land resources. The training focuses on environmental law, geology, chemistry and microbiology.

Opportunities

After obtaining the DEUST Environment and Waste, the graduate can work in many sectors related to the environment, water distribution and sanitation as well as waste treatment. The field of intervention ranges from a private organization to a design office, including the local authority.

He can work as a technician in charge of:

The position of Environmental Quality Assistant or Environmental Health Safety Officer is also open to him.

The holder of the diploma can continue his studies by preparing a professional license in the same sector.

The trials

The student obtains the DEUST Environment and Waste after passing the knowledge assessments through continuous checks and terminal exams (written or oral). Many modules are subject to evaluation. The internship in a professional environment gives rise to a thesis followed by its defense.

Schools preparing for the DEUST

To succeed in the DEUST Environment and Waste, it is important to prepare it well. In France, many establishments offer training that leads to the diploma, for example the UFR of Earth Sciences of the University of Lille 1.

Training program

The student can integrate the DEUST Environment and Waste training after a first semester of the license (all mentions). The course continues with courses, tutorials and practical work as well as a three-month internship. The acquisition of skills takes place over a period of two years.
